Karagumruk returned to the Super Lig via the playoffs, but their comeback has been challenging – three defeats in four matches reveal defensive weaknesses. Coach Marcel Licka has strengthened the squad by signing David Datro Fofana, who should add much-needed firepower and may start right away. Their 2-1 away win over Antalyaspor last round was an important confidence boost and showed that the team can play more offensively. Basaksehir, meanwhile, are having a disastrous start to the season, crashing out of the Conference League and going eight competitive games without a win. The visitors won 2-0 here last season, so they will believe they can cause another upset. Both teams have quality going forward but look vulnerable at the back. An open and attacking match is expected, with at least three goals likely to be scored.
