Sport Recife’s return to the top flight has been a painful lesson. With only two wins and the worst attack in the league (20 goals), they sit bottom of the table and look like the main relegation candidates. They have won just once at home and struggle at both ends of the pitch. Ceara, on the other hand, have been far more consistent, losing only once in their last five games and hammering Santos 3-0 recently. Leo Conde’s side boast a solid defence and, although not flawless away from home, have significantly more confidence and stability than their hosts. History also favours them, with six wins in the last ten meetings. If they maintain their recent form, they should come away from Recife with all three points.

Atletico Mineiro vs Cruzeiro (16.10.2025, 01:30)

The famous Clásico Mineiro promises a heated and balanced battle, but several factors point towards the visitors. Cruzeiro may be going through a slight slump with three matches without a win, but they are still in the title race and only six points off the top. Their recent six-game winning streak showcased their quality and ambition. Atletico Mineiro, meanwhile, are still adapting under new coach Jorge Sampaoli and sit in the lower half of the table. Despite some improvements and strong home support, they lack consistency and attacking power due to injuries. Cruzeiro have also won both of the last two head-to-head clashes 2-0 and possess more quality in key moments. A point or more for the visitors is highly likely.

Fortaleza vs Vasco da Gama (16.10.2025, 01:30)

Tip: Vasco da Gama to win

Fortaleza’s recent victory over Juventude gave them hope in the relegation battle, but they remain deeply entrenched in the drop zone. Their home record is poor – just 17 points from 14 matches – and they lack a real difference-maker in attack. Vasco, by contrast, are enjoying an excellent run of form, winning three of their last four games and showing they can beat strong teams away from home. Veteran striker Pablo Vegetti remains a major threat despite a brief goal drought and continues to be a vital part of their attack. The traditional Clásico Alvinegro comes at a time when Santos desperately need points, but they are unlikely to have enough against a stronger Corinthians side. The hosts have shown signs of stability under their new coach, but just one win in their last six matches is not enough. Injuries, including captain Neymar’s absence, further weaken their attack. Corinthians, under Dorival Júnior, are playing consistently and their victory over fourth-placed Mirassol has boosted their confidence. Despite their own injury problems, they have more quality in key areas and have dominated the head-to-head in recent years. If they perform at their usual level, they should win this derby.

Gremio vs Sao Paulo (16.10.2025, 23:00)

Tip: Draw or Sao Paulo to win (X2)

Gremio rely heavily on their home strength, with five wins there this season, and have a positive head-to-head record against Sao Paulo. However, the absence of key players, including top scorer Martin Braithwaite and captain Walter Kannemann, significantly weakens their chances. With superior quality, form and historical head-to-head record, everything points towards a straightforward home victory.

Vitoria vs Bahia (17.10.2025, 01:30)

Tip: Bahia to win or draw (X2)

The Ba-Vi derby is traditionally an emotional and fiery encounter, often featuring red cards, and this one is expected to be no different. Vitoria desperately need points in their fight for survival, but their form is dreadful – four defeats in their last six games and ongoing discipline problems. Bahia, despite inconsistent away results, still have a realistic chance of securing direct Libertadores qualification and have a stronger squad overall. History is on their side too – they are unbeaten in seven matches against their rivals and bring more experience to high-pressure games. Even without top scorer Willian Jose, they should extend their unbeaten run and are more than capable of taking all three points.
