Tip: Double chance Como or Draw
The Lombardy derby promises a great spectacle, as Como and Cremonese meet in the top flight for the first time since 1985. Under Cesc Fàbregas, the hosts play bold, attacking football, as they showed in midweek with a convincing 3-0 Coppa Italia win over Sassuolo. The Sinigaglia Stadium has become a fortress, with only Inter managing to win here this year. Striker Jesús Rodríguez Caraballo impressed with a brace, while creative midfielder Nico Paz already has several assists to his name. On the other side, Davide Nicola’s team excels with compact defending, keeping two consecutive clean sheets, with goalkeeper Emil Audero in top form and defenders Baschirotto and Terracciano ever reliable. Cremonese also holds the psychological advantage, unbeaten against Como since 2016 and with a solid eight points from four games. However, fatigue among key players and a somewhat unbalanced attack could become issues. This will be a clash of contrasting styles – Como’s offensive approach against Cremonese’s disciplined defense.
Tip: Juventus to win
A clash of two unbeaten sides promises top-class football. Juventus, under Igor Tudor, have been collecting points steadily and look very strong at home – six straight league wins, with their last game ending in a draw against Verona. In attack, they rotate Jonathan David, Dusan Vlahović, and Lois Openda, with Vlahović excelling as a super-sub, scoring decisive goals off the bench. Defensive stability should be boosted by Bremer’s return. On the other hand, Atalanta under Ivan Jurić prove they are still among the elite even after Gasperini. Nikola Krstović, with two goals against Torino, has been crucial, while Charles De Ketelaere provides creativity. The Bergamaschi also have a remarkable record in Turin, unbeaten in their last seven visits to Juventus. Yet Juventus will rely on home strength and the motivation to avenge last season’s heavy 4-0 defeat by Atalanta. The game should see chances on both sides, but Juve’s experience could make the decisive difference.
Tip: Inter to win
Inter Milan travel to Sardinia in an unusual situation – sitting below Cagliari in the table, as the hosts under Fabio Pisacane have enjoyed a strong start. The Rossoblu have won three games in a row, including a Coppa Italia triumph over Frosinone, and their attack is finally clicking. Andrea Belotti has rediscovered his scoring touch, supported by Sebastiano Esposito. Yet their defense now faces its biggest test, with Lautaro Martínez back for Inter – he boasts an incredible record of 11 goals in 11 matches against Cagliari. Alongside Marcus Thuram and young Francesco Pio Esposito, Inter’s frontline looks formidable. Coach Cristian Chivu can also count on a nearly full squad, giving him valuable depth. The statistics are strongly in Inter’s favor: five straight away wins at Sardinia and 12 victories in their last 15 meetings overall. Cagliari’s progress is undeniable and the home crowd will be pushing them, but Inter’s quality and firepower should ultimately decide the game.
Tip: Udinese or Draw (X2)
Sassuolo return home after a series of difficult matches, having struggled away from home and also crashing out of the cup against Como. Fabio Grosso’s team is still adapting to life back in Serie A, and the results reflect that – three defeats from four league games is far from ideal. Still, players like Domenico Berardi and experienced Nemanja Matić can be decisive figures and bring stability. Their record against Udinese, however, is poor, with only one home win in the last eleven attempts. The visitors, under Kosta Runjaic, look far more compact, and new signings Nicolò Zaniolo and youngster Lennon Miller have immediately made an impact. Udinese already managed to win away at Inter and Pisa, proving they are comfortable on their travels. Goalkeeper Razvan Sava will face pressure as the club is without its other three keepers, but overall, Udinese’s squad strength is currently higher than Sassuolo’s. Unless Berardi produces something extraordinary, the visitors are more likely to take points.
Tip: Fiorentina to Win
The Tuscan derby returns after more than thirty years and promises plenty of intensity. Pisa, who were promoted this year, have collected just one point so far and sit near the bottom of the table. Coach Alberto Gilardino is still searching for the right lineup, though M’Bala Nzola finally found the net against Napoli. Defensively, however, the team looks shaky and concedes far too easily. Fiorentina’s position is only slightly better, but their squad is significantly deeper and stronger. Forwards such as Moise Kean, Edin Džeko, and Albert Gudmundsson give Stefano Pioli plenty of options, even if form is lacking. This derby will surely be emotional, but the visitors’ offensive quality should make the difference. Pisa can fight bravely at home, but both history and the present favor Fiorentina.
Tip: Roma to Win
Roma are enjoying a strong start under Gian Piero Gasperini, with victory in the Derby della Capitale showing their growing confidence. Captain Lorenzo Pellegrini once again etched his name into club history, while players such as Dybala and Dovbyk provide attacking threat, even though some remain injured. The Giallorossi also picked up a valuable Europa League win away at Nice, boosting morale further. Verona, on the other hand, are struggling in front of goal, with new striker Gift Orban yet to fully find his rhythm despite glimpses of quality. History offers little hope for Verona – they have not won in Rome for over fifty years and have a poor record in recent meetings. Their defense often collapses under pressure, which is dangerous against Gasperini’s attacking approach. Roma are targeting the top spots in the league, while Verona look destined for a relegation battle. All signs point to another home success for Roma.
Tip: Bologna to Win
Lecce sit bottom of the table, and their performances so far have shown clear weaknesses. Just one point from four games is worrying, and their poor run stretches back into last season. The attack has been weakened by Nikola Krstovic’s move to Atalanta, and no replacement has stepped up. Bologna’s away form is far from ideal, with a string of defeats on their travels, but the quality of their squad is on a different level. Riccardo Orsolini and Santiago Castro provide attacking threat that should be too much for Lecce’s fragile defense. Bologna have also traditionally fared well in this fixture – they are unbeaten in their last nine visits to Lecce. If Bologna want to remain competitive in mid-table, they must take advantage of this opportunity. Lecce would need a heroic performance to hold on to points at home.
Tip: AC Milan or Draw (1X)
The highlight of the round sees two Italian giants face off. AC Milan under Massimiliano Allegri have tightened up defensively, with three straight league wins without conceding. Christian Pulisic is in outstanding form, supported by Christopher Nkunku and Santiago Giménez, who has finally broken his goal drought. The return of Rafael Leao could add even more firepower. Napoli, meanwhile, remain perfect under Antonio Conte, with Rasmus Højlund and Lorenzo Lucca forming a dangerous duo. The midfield creativity of Kevin De Bruyne and Billy Gilmour gives them additional strength, though the defense has been weakened by the loss of Buongiorno. Milan’s recent form looks highly convincing, but Napoli’s pedigree as champions cannot be underestimated. This clash promises to be close, with Milan perhaps slightly better positioned at home, but a draw remains a realistic outcome.
Tip: Torino or Draw (X2)
Parma advanced in the cup against Spezia, but their league form remains poor. Just two draws and one goal from four games highlight their attacking struggles. Mateo Pellegrino, who was decisive last season, remains their main hope in front of goal. At home, Parma have been relatively resilient, losing just once in their last seven league matches at the Tardini. Torino, however, are also inconsistent, with only one league win so far and a heavy 3-0 loss to Atalanta exposing defensive weaknesses. New coach Marco Baroni relies on Cesare Casadei in midfield, while forwards like Che Adams and Giovanni Simeone have yet to deliver. This match could turn into a tactical battle with few chances. Parma may benefit from home advantage, but Torino’s squad depth and experience give them the edge. The visitors look slightly more likely to come away with points.
