Czech Chance Liga Matchday 8 Preview (September 13–14, 2025) – 13.-14.9. 2025

Baník Ostrava vs Slovan Liberec (13.09.2025, 15:00)

Tip: Draw

In Ostrava, two teams meet who have higher ambitions than the table currently shows. Baník struggles mainly in defence and has already lost three times, conceding cheap goals especially from set pieces. In addition, they face a midweek rescheduled match against Teplice, so the coach will need to rotate and manage the squad carefully. Liberec have a young team and are dangerous particularly in quick transitions, but they are struggling with finishing and converting chances. This match could therefore be cautious and evenly balanced, as both sides will mainly want to stop their negative runs. A large crowd is expected at Bazaly, which may push the home side forward, but Liberec have historically had a good record against Baník. A level game and a draw seem the most likely outcome and probably one both teams would accept given their current situation.

Viktoria Plzeň vs Sigma Olomouc (13.09.2025, 15:00)

Tip: Viktoria Plzeň to win

The match of the round at the Doosan Arena promises an attractive spectacle. Plzeň only drew in Liberec and is still looking for its ideal form, but at home they will want to show their strength and climb back into the top four. Sigma are a very unpleasant opponent, relying on a compact defence and quick counterattacks, but they will be without their top scorer Vašulín, which is a big blow. Plzeň can rely on experienced players like Chorý and Bucha, who are capable of deciding matches in crucial moments. Although Sigma managed to take a point away from Plzeň last spring, this time their task will be much harder. The expectation is that the home side will put on pressure from the start and try to score early. If Viktoria convert their chances, they should control the game and win by one or two goals.

FK Teplice vs Mladá Boleslav (13.09.2025, 15:00)

Tip: Both Teams to Score (BTTS)

At the Stínadla stadium, the two teams with the most porous defences in the league meet, so an attacking match is expected. Teplice have lost four matches in a row and urgently need to start picking up points, but they make far too many mistakes at the back. Boleslav are in a similar position – they have a decent attack but have conceded the most goals in the league (19 goals in six matches). These factors suggest there will be several goals and both teams will create plenty of chances. The home side will rely on Žák and Mareček, while the visitors have Ladra and Ewerton, who can decide matches with individual brilliance. A draw would not be good enough for either team, so we can expect open football. BTTS is therefore the most logical betting option.

FC Zlín vs Dukla Prague (13.09.2025, 15:00)

Tip: FC Zlín to win

Despite their defeat at Sparta, Zlín remain high up the table and are one of the pleasant surprises of the season. At home they play very well, collect points, and rely on quick counterattacks. Dukla struggle away from home, with just one point from four away matches, and they often concede early goals. Zlín have Ševčík and Vukadinović in attack, who are both in good form and capable of deciding the game. Dukla have a compact midfield but will have problems coping with the pace of Zlín’s wingers. The home side will be eager to continue their good start to the season after the international break and secure their place in the top half of the table. Everything points towards a Zlín win, most likely by a single goal.

Slavia Prague vs Karviná (13.09.2025, 18:00)

Tip: Slavia Prague to win

Slavia will want to make the most of their home advantage and temporarily return to the top of the table until Sunday. They have the second-best attack in the league and are dominant at home, boasting a long unbeaten run at Eden. Karviná had a prolific couple of weeks in front of goal – 10 goals in two matches before the break – but Slavia are on a completely different level. Coach Trpišovský has a deep squad and can rotate, so the home side will be well rested. The visitors will rely on counterattacks and set pieces but will struggle to keep up with the Prague giants for the whole 90 minutes. Expect Slavia to put pressure on from the very first minute and create several clear-cut chances. A home win, likely with a clean sheet, is the most probable scenario.

FK Jablonec vs FK Pardubice (14.09.2025, 13:00)

Tip: FK Jablonec to win

Jablonec remain unbeaten and have the best defence in the league, which is the foundation of their current third-place standing. They are also enjoying a positive change in club ownership, bringing stability to the team. Pardubice overhauled their squad significantly over the summer and signed seven players at the end of the transfer window, but their cohesion is still a work in progress. Jablonec rely on a solid backline and dangerous set pieces at home, which should work well against Pardubice. The visitors have a young, attacking side and will create some chances, but their defence tends to be vulnerable. If the home side make use of their set pieces, they should claim three points and stay among the league’s top teams.

Bohemians Praha 1905 vs 1. FC Slovácko (14.09.2025, 15:30)

Tip: Draw

In Ďolíček, two teams meet that are struggling to score – both have netted only four goals, the worst tally in the league. Bohemians rely on a strong defence and a fighting spirit in front of their fans, while Slovácko have an experienced squad but have lost their last two matches by the same scoreline, 0:2. The home side have one match in hand and will want to turn that into a points advantage. This game will likely be very tight and could be decided by a single goal or a set piece. Given the current form of both sides, a draw looks like the most realistic result.

Hradec Králové vs Sparta Prague (14.09.2025, 18:00)

Tip: Sparta Prague to win

Sparta are riding a wave of victories, having won every match since the opening draw with Jablonec and sitting top of the table with a two-point lead. They have not dropped a single point at Hradec’s new stadium, winning both games there by two goals. Hradec have won just once this season and will want to make life difficult for the favourites, but they need to improve both offensively and defensively. Sparta have a deep squad and can rotate, with players like Kuchta, Haraslín and Birmančević able to decide matches with individual brilliance. Expect the visitors to control possession and dictate the tempo. If they maintain their current form, they should leave Eastern Bohemia with all three points.
