Serie A Matchday 3 Preview (September 13–15, 2025) – 13.-15.9. 2025

Cagliari vs Parma (13.09.2025, 15:00)

Tip: Double Chance 1X (Cagliari not to lose)

Both Cagliari and Parma go into the third round of Serie A with just one point each, and both sides are desperate to get their first win. Cagliari, under Fabio Pisacane, have shown plenty of fighting spirit so far – first rescuing a last-minute draw against Fiorentina and then suffering a heartbreaking defeat in Naples thanks to Frank Anguissa’s stoppage-time goal. Andrea Belotti is expected to make his debut and could be the key man in attack, forming an intriguing partnership with Sebastiano Esposito. Even with Pavoletti and Luvumbo sidelined, the addition of Belotti should give Cagliari extra firepower. Parma, coached by Carlos Cuesta, also managed to secure a point last time out thanks to a late goal from Patrick Cutrone, but their away record is worrying – just one win in their last 14 league away games. History is also against the visitors, as Cagliari have not lost a home match against Parma since 2013. This match promises to be closely contested, but Cagliari’s home advantage should help them finally end their winless streak. For that reason, we expect the hosts to at least avoid defeat.

Juventus vs Inter Milan (13.09.2025, 18:00)

Tip: Both Teams to Score (BTTS)

The Derby d’Italia is always intense and full of drama and goals, and this clash should be no different. Juventus have made a perfect start to the season, and coach Igor Tudor can rely on the in-form Dusan Vlahović and Jonathan David in attack. Inter, meanwhile, lost points against Udinese but still have the lethal duo of Lautaro Martínez and Marcus Thuram, who can trouble any defence. Historically, Juventus have the upper hand at the Allianz Stadium, but Inter are highly motivated to bounce back and prove they are genuine title contenders this season. Defensively, neither team looks flawless – Juve are still fine-tuning their wing-back setup, and Inter are integrating Manuel Akanji to strengthen the back line after a shaky performance. With so much attacking talent on both sides and the importance of this early-season showdown, we can expect an open game with chances at both ends. Recent meetings have often produced goals for both teams, including last year’s thrilling 4-4 draw in Milan. The most likely scenario is that both sides will find the net again.

Fiorentina vs Napoli (13.09.2025, 20:45)

Tip: Napoli to Win

Napoli have a perfect record so far and under Antonio Conte they look determined to defend their title in style. Their last win over Cagliari, sealed deep into stoppage time, once again highlighted their winning mentality and ability to decide matches in the dying minutes. A key factor here could be the return of Rasmus Højlund to Serie A, who is likely to start in place of the injured Romelu Lukaku. Scott McTominay is in fantastic form in midfield and will be crucial in breaking down Fiorentina’s defensive block. The hosts, led by Stefano Pioli, are still looking for their first league win and, despite boasting a talented squad with Moise Kean and the experienced Edin Džeko, their record against Napoli is poor – they have not won any of their last seven home matches against them. Fiorentina usually pick up points at Stadio Franchi, but Napoli’s squad depth and superior quality across the pitch should prevail. Considering the visitors’ form and psychological edge, we are backing Napoli to take all three points and continue their unbeaten run in Tuscany.

AS Roma vs Torino (14.09.2025, 12:30)

Tip: Roma to win

Roma have started the Gian Piero Gasperini era in impressive fashion – two wins, two clean sheets and a side that already looks more compact than in recent seasons. Matias Soule has continued his fine form from the end of last year, and his partnership with Evan Ferguson is beginning to flourish. Paulo Dybala is also expected to be fit to start, giving the Giallorossi even more attacking variety. Roma have dominated Torino at the Stadio Olimpico for years, losing only twice in their last 15 home meetings. Torino, under new coach Marco Baroni, have struggled – after a heavy opening-day defeat to Inter they managed only a goalless draw with Fiorentina, and their attack is still misfiring. The Granata have now failed to score in five consecutive Serie A matches, adding pressure on their coach and forwards. Giovanni Simeone and Che Adams are still looking for goals, but they will find it tough against a solid Roma backline. We expect Roma to assert their superiority and claim a third straight win.

Atalanta BC vs Lecce (14.09.2025, 15:00)

Tip: Atalanta to win

Atalanta under Ivan Juric are still searching for their first victory, but they have dominated possession and created plenty of chances in both games so far. Mario Pasalic is in good form and Nikola Krstovic should replace the injured Scamacca, which could improve their cutting edge. La Dea are traditionally one of the strongest home sides in Serie A and will want to build momentum before their Champions League clash with PSG. Lecce have shown spirit but have yet to score in the league, following a 0-0 draw with Genoa and a 2-0 loss to AC Milan. Coach Eusebio Di Francesco needs time to implement his ideas, but away games have been a problem for Lecce for some time. Their defence also tends to concede late goals, which could be decisive against Atalanta’s relentless attack. We expect the hosts to put the pressure on from the start and finally get their first win of the campaign.

Pisa vs Udinese (14.09.2025, 15:00)

Tip: Udinese to win

Pisa have shown promise since returning to Serie A but have so far fallen short against stronger opponents. Alberto Gilardino is trying to shape a competitive side, yet they face a tough test against a confident Udinese. The visitors arrive boosted by a sensational 2-1 victory at San Siro against Inter, with Keinan Davis and Arthur Atta both on the scoresheet. Coach Kosta Runjaic has a well-drilled team, unbeaten in three competitive matches this season. Even if Sandi Lovric is ruled out, Udinese still have plenty of quality in midfield and attack. Pisa are more dangerous at home, but they have never beaten Udinese in the top flight and still rely too heavily on individual moments in attack. We expect Udinese to use their experience and quality to secure all three points.

Sassuolo vs Lazio (14.09.2025, 18:00)

Tip: Lazio to win

Sassuolo are still adapting to life back in Serie A and remain pointless after two games. Fabio Grosso’s side improved against Cremonese, coming from two goals down to equalise, but they still ended up losing to a stoppage-time penalty. Lazio under Maurizio Sarri responded to their opening defeat to Como by thrashing Verona 4-0, finding their attacking rhythm. Castellanos and Zaccagni have hit form, Guendouzi controls the midfield and the defence looks solid. The recent head-to-head record is firmly in Lazio’s favour – they have won their last two games in Reggio Emilia and generally have the upper hand in this fixture. Sassuolo also have a number of injuries and lack depth across the pitch. We expect Lazio to capitalise on their good form and take another away win.

AC Milan vs Bologna (14.09.2025, 20:45)

Tip: AC Milan to win

AC Milan are trying to stabilise under Massimiliano Allegri after a chaotic previous season, and the win over Lecce was an important step. New signings Christopher Nkunku and Adrien Rabiot are expected to feature, significantly strengthening the starting lineup. Santiago Gimenez, Christian Pulisic and Rafael Leao (if fit) give Milan plenty of attacking firepower that should trouble Bologna’s defence. The Rossoblu may have lifted the Coppa Italia last season and boast the quality of Riccardo Orsolini, but they have a poor record at San Siro, winning just twice in their last 20 league meetings with Milan. Vincenzo Italiano’s side are still missing Ciro Immobile and some key defenders, which limits their options. Milan need points to return to the Champions League places and should make the most of home advantage. We predict a Milan win in an entertaining game.
